Elderly Woman Killed by Truck Near Gaza Border
An approximately 90-year-old woman died Wednesday morning, September 30, after being struck by a truck on Highway 3525 near Kibbutz Brur Hayil, in the Gaza border region. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene, reporting she sustained multiple injuries. "The woman was lying on the road unconscious, without a pulse or breathing, with multiple injuries after being hit by a truck," said Magen David Adom paramedic Einav Yeshayahu. This incident brings the total number of road fatalities in Israel since the beginning of the year to 339.
Earlier road fatalities include a 19-year-old motorcyclist who died Tuesday, September 29, on Highway 12 between Eilat and Sayarim Junction. Hours before that, a 30-year-old man died on Highway 65 near Eilabun in the Upper Galilee, reportedly after his car collided with a horse. Another fatal accident occurred earlier in the week on Highway 232, also in the Gaza border area, where a man died after a two-car collision near the Ibim Junction, close to Sderot.
