Iran Resumes Nuclear Program, Netanyahu Shares Intel With UAE

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed new intelligence during a secret visit to the United Arab Emirates indicating Iran's renewed nuclear activities, CNN reported Wednesday. Netanyahu shared information with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed suggesting Tehran is attempting to revive its nuclear program. According to a senior Israeli official familiar with the meeting, the intelligence included details about new construction at the Parchin site, located approximately 225 kilometers south of Tehran. This site is considered a key location for Iran's nuclear program rehabilitation efforts following Israeli strikes that damaged its nuclear capabilities.

During the meeting, Netanyahu reportedly warned that Israel assesses Iran might launch an attack in the region in the coming weeks. Similar warnings have been issued by Israeli experts who believe Tehran could initiate escalation ahead of the U.S. midterm elections to pressure the American administration. The CNN report noted the presence of a senior Saudi official at the secret meeting, highlighting regional coordination between Israel and Gulf states against the Iranian threat and reflecting shared concerns over Iran's strategic capabilities.

Netanyahu had previously pledged at the Western Wall that "as long as I am Prime Minister, Iran will not have a nuclear weapon." He referenced former President Trump's statement about Iran's renewed attempts to arm itself with nuclear weapons, stating that after Israel destroyed its immediate capacity to produce nuclear bombs, Iran is trying again.

The new intelligence emerges amid diplomatic efforts by mediating countries to pressure Iran into making concessions on its nuclear program. However, Tehran has shown no signs of willingness to do so, demanding explicit guarantees that Israel will not attack it again. Experts believe that even after the current conflict cycle ends, Israel will need to continue long-term operations to prevent Iran from rebuilding its damaged strategic capabilities. Former Navy Commander, Major General (Res.) Eliezer Marom, recently stated, "We will need to act periodically to maintain the achievement in Iran."
