Kfar Qara Hosts Unprecedented Women's Cultural Festival and Theatrical Concert

Kfar Qara recently hosted a highly successful and widely acclaimed women's cultural festival and theatrical concert titled "Bainy wa Bainak" (Between You and Me). The event, held at the Qara Cultural Palace, drew approximately 600 women and girls from the town, marking an unprecedented cultural gathering for women in the Arab community.

The festival was lauded by participants of all ages for its creative content and critical social commentary. Described as a pioneering cultural initiative for the Qara Cultural Palace and the broader Arab society, the event aimed to be inclusive, welcoming women over 18, including retired educators, elderly women, mothers, and young women. This created a unifying social tableau, bringing together different generations of Kfar Qara women in a shared space of culture, joy, and connection.

The evening commenced with an opening address by Maha Zahalka Masalha, Director of Culture and the Qara Cultural Palace, who skillfully managed the program. She paid tribute to the elder women, referring to them as the "ladies of the Cultural Palace," and highlighted the event as the realization of a decade-long dream to unite the town's women through theater, joy, and tradition. Masalha also praised the Al-Aliya Women's Ensemble, led by conductor Rozan Khoury, and lead actress Khawla Haj Dibsi, who performed a theatrical concert addressing societal issues affecting women.

Kfar Qara Mayor, Firas Ahmed Badhi, also addressed the attendees, expressing his appreciation for the participants and emphasizing the importance of investing in meaningful culture as a unifying force for society. Bruin Azab, the Mayor's advisor for women's affairs, spoke about various women's programs and services offered by the municipality.

The event was fully funded by the Ministry of Culture and organized in collaboration with several municipal departments. The "Bainy wa Bainak" performance, lasting about ninety minutes, blended music, theater, singing, comedy, and audience interaction. It critically and humorously addressed issues such as interference in others' lives and differing family attitudes towards young men and women.

Following the festival, participants expressed their deep satisfaction with the artistic and organizational standards, praising the event for fostering joy, reflection, laughter, and connection. The festival concluded with acknowledgments to the production team, including director Carlos Ghorzuzi, concept creator Fadi Zghayyer, and the performers.
