Kfar Qara Hosts Unprecedented Women's Cultural Festival 'Between You and Me'

Kfar Qara, Israel, recently hosted an unprecedented cultural event, the "Between You and Me" women's festival, which drew approximately 600 women and girls to the local cultural palace. The festival, organized by the Kfar Qara Municipality's Culture Department, received widespread acclaim from participants of all ages for its creative content and meaningful social commentary.

The event, described as a pioneering cultural initiative for the Arab community, aimed to unite women from various segments of Kfar Qara society, including retired educators, elderly women, mothers, and young women. The festival provided a platform for intergenerational connection, fostering a sense of community, joy, and cultural engagement.

Maha Zahalka Masalha, Director of the Culture Department and the Cultural Palace, opened the evening, highlighting the importance of women's contributions and celebrating the elder generation. The festival featured a theatrical concert by the "Alia" women's ensemble, led by conductor Rozan Khoury and starring actress Khawla Haj Dibsi, which addressed societal issues affecting women through satire and art.

Kfar Qara Mayor Firas Ahmed Badhi praised the large female turnout, emphasizing the role of culture in community development and acknowledging the significant contributions of women to the town's progress. Bruin Azab, the mayor's advisor on women's affairs, also spoke about initiatives aimed at empowering women in the community.

The festival was fully funded by the Ministry of Culture and was a collaborative effort between the Culture Department, the Cultural Palace, the Human Resources Department, and the Women's Affairs Department. The "Between You and Me" concert, lasting about an hour and a half, combined music, theater, and comedy to explore themes of social interference and family dynamics, resonating deeply with the audience.

Participants expressed strong satisfaction with the artistic and organizational quality of the event, viewing it as a comprehensive cultural and social experience that fostered joy, reflection, and connection. The festival concluded with acknowledgments to the production team, including director Carlos Ghorzouz, concept creator Fadi Zghayyer, and the artistic performers.
