Torah Scroll Dedicated in Samaria to Honor Fallen IDF Hero Ran Guili

A Torah scroll was dedicated Tuesday in the community of Tzufim in Samaria, in memory of Staff Sergeant Ran Guili, an Israel Police counter-terrorism officer who fell in battle, and for the soul of Simcha Baer Belesky. The scroll was donated by the Belesky family from the United States.

The dedication ceremony was attended by Ran's parents, Tali and Itzik Guili, head of the Samaria Regional Council Yossi Dagan, residents of Tzufim, and other guests. Dagan thanked the donors, stating that the event connects remembrance with the continuation of life and settlement. He emphasized that despite security challenges, settlement in the area continues to grow, with new homes being built and families arriving.

Ran's mother, Tali Guili, expressed her excitement and pride, saying, "I feel like I am marrying off my son now." Ran's father, Itzik Guili, also shared his emotion and thanked the donors, calling the Torah scroll a deeply moving gesture.

Sarah Belesky, who donated the scroll with her husband Abraham, spoke of the honor in sharing the dedication with the Guili family. She noted that from stories about Ran, they learned of his kindness, generosity, and work ethic, describing him as a "hidden righteous man" who risked his life to save others.

Dov Shlomoivitz, chairman of the Tzufim community secretariat, concluded the event by calling it a great merit for Tzufim to host the dedication in Ran Guili's memory, stating that their memory is being turned into a blessing and continuity.
