Spotify Suffers Global Outage, Affecting Hundreds of Thousands
Hundreds of thousands of users worldwide reported disruptions to the music streaming service Spotify on Friday. According to Downdetector, over 20,000 users logged issues, with some unable to open the app, play music, search for songs, or connect to the company's servers. In Israel, Downdetector registered several hundred reports, while the United States saw approximately 17,000.
Forbes reported that Ookla received over 200,000 outage reports from more than 173 countries. The exact cause of the widespread technical problems remains unconfirmed.
Spotify acknowledged the issues via its X (formerly Twitter) account, stating, "We're aware of issues temporarily affecting our app. We’re actively working to quickly resolve them."
