Netanyahu Sues Media Outlets for Defamation Over October 7th Claims

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has filed a series of defamation lawsuits totaling nearly 3 million shekels (approximately $810,000 USD) against several Israeli media organizations and journalists. The lawsuits stem from what Netanyahu's office describes as "false narratives" and "absolute lies" being circulated, specifically alleging that he received advance warning before the Hamas attacks on October 7th.

The Likud party emphasized that both the UAE and Egypt have already completely denied these claims. The defendants include prominent media outlets "Haaretz," "Yedioth Ahronoth," and "Channel 12," as well as journalists and commentators Shlomi Eldar, Uri Misgav, Nadav Eyal, Barak Ravid, and Attila Somfalvi.

Likud stated that the timing of these "lies" is not coincidental, suggesting they are being disseminated by political rivals and hostile foreign elements on the eve of elections. The party asserts that the campaign's objective is to oust the right-wing government and install a left-wing government supported by Arab parties, led by figures like Gadi Eisenkot, Yair Golan, Avigdor Lieberman, and Naftali Bennett, which would establish a Palestinian state.

As election day approaches, Likud warns that the "web of lies" will continue in an effort to divert attention from the core issue: the choice between a right-wing government and the establishment of a Palestinian state. The party urges voters who desire a strong right-wing government to vote for Likud.
