Gadi Eisenkot's Party Demands Netanyahu Remove Campaign Video Within 4 Hours

The "Yashar!" party, led by former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot, has issued a stern demand to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, requiring him to remove a campaign video filmed at the Tel Nof airbase within four hours. The party alleges the video constitutes an illegal use of public assets and risks creating an association between the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Netanyahu's Likud party.

The complaint, submitted shortly before the 2026 elections, argues that the video violates Section 2a of the Elections Law, which prohibits the use of public property for election propaganda. The party emphasized that the airbase and its fighter jets were not merely a backdrop but a central element of the video's message, lending Netanyahu's political statements the perceived authority and achievements of the IDF.

Yashar! also questioned the timing of the video's release, just 28 days before the election, and called for Netanyahu to explain his choice of content and timing. The party has formally requested that Netanyahu and the Likud remove the video from all controlled accounts and refrain from re-publishing it in its current form.

Should Netanyahu fail to comply within the four-hour deadline, Yashar! stated its intention to immediately petition the Central Elections Committee chairperson for an injunction and legal costs.
