Ford Launches New Ranger Truck in Israel With Upgraded Engine and Lower Price

Ford has introduced a new generation of its Ranger pickup truck in Israel, featuring a more powerful engine and a slightly reduced price point compared to its predecessor. The updated Ranger replaces the previous 2-liter, four-cylinder diesel engine with a new unit that offers an additional 35 horsepower. This engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a selectable four-wheel-drive system, including a low-range gear and a standard rear differential lock, along with a dedicated off-road driving mode.

Currently, the new engine is available in the top-trim version of the Ranger. The base XLT model will continue with the older engine until existing stock is depleted. The new Ranger boasts a 12-inch touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, surround-view cameras, a smart key, leather seats, power-adjustable driver's seat, and heated front seats.

Safety features have also been enhanced, with the inclusion of automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring. A new center airbag between the driver and front passenger has been added to mitigate injuries from side impacts.

This launch aims to bolster Ford's presence in the small pickup truck market, where the Ranger directly competes with the Toyota Hilux, a dominant player in the Israeli market. While the Ranger has not achieved the same widespread popularity in Israel as in markets like Australia and Europe, the combination of the upgraded engine, competitive pricing, and extensive features positions the new model to challenge the Hilux more effectively.
