Toyota Hilux and KGM Musso New Pickup Trucks Launch in Israel with Key Differences

The ninth-generation Toyota Hilux and the second-generation KGM Musso pickups have arrived in Israel, each offering distinct features and pricing. The Hilux, unveiled globally at the end of 2025, is priced between 310,000 and 360,000 shekels depending on trim level, while the KGM Musso, introduced earlier this year, is offered in a single "Premium" trim at 275,000 shekels.

The Hilux is powered by a 2.8-liter diesel engine with mild 48-volt hybrid support, delivering 204 horsepower and 51 kgm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Its fuel efficiency ranges from 9.8 to 10 km per liter. The Musso features a 2.2-liter diesel engine producing 202 horsepower and 45 kgm torque, also with a 6-speed automatic and four-wheel drive, achieving 10.1 km per liter.

In terms of cargo capacity, the Musso has a slightly larger bed measuring 1.61 meters long, 1.57 meters wide, and 57 cm high, compared to the Hilux’s 1.55 by 1.54 meters and 48 cm height. Payload capacity is similar, with the Hilux carrying between 1,035 and 1,065 kg and the Musso 1,000 kg. Both trucks can tow trailers up to 3,500 kg and use leaf springs at the rear.

Off-road capabilities differ slightly: the Hilux offers a rear differential lock, 29-degree approach angle, 24-degree departure angle, and 30.9 cm ground clearance. The Musso has an automatic mechanical rear differential lock, a 30.6-degree approach angle, 24.5-degree departure angle, and 24.8 cm ground clearance. Turning radius is 12.6 meters for the Hilux and 12.2 meters for the Musso.

The Hilux is available in three trims: "Active Pro" (310,000 shekels) with keyless entry, a 9-inch multimedia screen, seven airbags, and advanced safety features; "Adventurer" (330,000 shekels) adds a 12.3-inch screen, heated seats, wireless charging, and LED fog lights; and "Sahara" (360,000 shekels) includes leather upholstery, a digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster, 360-degree cameras, and JBL audio. The Musso’s single "Premium" trim includes synthetic leather seats, heated front and rear seats, a 12.3-inch multimedia and instrument display, six airbags, and comprehensive safety systems.

Warranty coverage for both vehicles is three years or 100,000 km, with the Hilux offering an optional extended warranty up to 15 years or 250,000 km. Maintenance intervals differ slightly, with the Hilux requiring service every six months or 10,000 km and oil changes every two years or 30,000 km, while the Musso’s service interval is annually or every 10,000 km.
