Refreshed Isuzu D-MAX Pickup Arrives in Israel With New Powertrain

The updated Isuzu D-MAX pickup truck has been launched in Israel, featuring a significant overhaul of its powertrain. The popular model now boasts a new 2.2-liter diesel engine, replacing the previous 1.9-liter unit. While maintaining the same horsepower output, the new engine delivers increased torque of 40.7 kgf-m, accessible at a lower RPM of 1,600.

This new engine is paired with an updated 8-speed automatic transmission, an upgrade from the previous 6-speed gearbox. Fuel efficiency remains largely unchanged, with combined consumption rated between 11.1 and 11.3 km per liter. Towing capacities are also specified, with the rear-wheel-drive version capable of pulling 2,500 kg and the four-wheel-drive variant able to tow 3,500 kg.

The D-MAX continues to offer five trim levels, with pricing remaining consistent with the outgoing model. A single-cab 2X4 base model is expected later in the year. Higher trims, such as the LS+ and S+ for double-cab versions, include features like an 8-inch multimedia screen, 7-inch instrument cluster display, rain and light sensors, reverse cameras, and parking sensors. Advanced safety features are also included, with higher trims offering expanded safety suites and an additional airbag.

The top-tier LSE Premium trim further enhances the vehicle with a larger 9-inch multimedia screen, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and additional USB ports. Pricing for the D-MAX ranges from NIS 260,000 for the base single-cab model to NIS 313,000 for the LSE Premium double-cab variant. Isuzu is offering a 5-year or 120,000 km warranty, with service intervals set at one year or 15,000 km.
