  • Shlein purchased the land for NIS 13.7 million.

Media personality Lior Shlein, partner of MK Merav Michaeli, is advancing plans to construct a substantial villa on a plot he purchased in Tel Aviv's Afeka neighborhood. The proposal has reached an advanced stage, with a recent discussion at the Tel Aviv Local Planning and Building Committee. However, a building permit has not yet been issued pending further submissions and reviews.

Shlein acquired the 510-square-meter plot on Manya Yisrael Street in December 2022 for approximately NIS 13.7 million from a retired judge. The site currently features a 240-square-meter structure. Shlein's plan involves demolishing the existing building to erect a much larger, approximately 450-square-meter home, which slightly exceeds the permitted building rights by about 6%.

The proposed design includes a 140-square-meter basement, a ground floor of 126 square meters, a first floor of 107 square meters, and a third floor with a 25-square-meter room leading to a roof, part of which will be covered by a pergola. Notably, despite the upscale location, Shlein has not requested permission to build a swimming pool.

Currently, Shlein, Michaeli, and their three children reside in separate apartments in central Tel Aviv. The move to Manya Yisrael Street, a quiet street bordering the Afeka and Neve Avivim neighborhoods in northern Tel Aviv, would represent a shift from the city center to a more secluded area. The street features villas on one side and older, denser buildings on the other.
