MK Avi Maoz Marks Torah Scroll Ceremony in Gush Etzion Settlement

Member of Knesset Avi Maoz, chairman of the Noam party, recently participated in a significant event: the dedication of a new Torah scroll in the new settlement of Avihay, located in the Gush Etzion region. For Maoz, the ceremony held deep personal, historical, and public meaning, representing a full circle moment. He previously served for two years at the nearby Sde Dror base and was among the founders of Kibbutz Migdal Oz, a community that has been instrumental in the development of the area for decades. The event, attended by Gush Etzion Regional Council head Yaron Rosenthal and dozens of residents, celebrated renewal and Zionist continuity.

During the ceremony, Maoz recited a special blessing, "Matziv Gvul Almana" (Establishing a boundary for the widow), a moment imbued with added significance given his long-standing familiarity with the region's security challenges dating back to his early military and civilian service. Maoz spoke about the critical importance of settlement growth in the area where he once served as a pioneer. He asserted that developing Gush Etzion and establishing new communities is the most appropriate Zionist response to Israel's current security and political challenges.

Maoz also declared his commitment to resolutely continue working to establish, strengthen, and expand Jewish presence and Israeli sovereignty throughout Judea and Samaria.
