Ashdod Holds Ceremony for Torah Scroll Honoring Philanthropist
A moving ceremony was held in Ashdod for the dedication of a new Torah scroll at the "Ahava Yisrael" synagogue. The scroll was donated by the family, friends, and congregants of the synagogue in memory of Rabbi Avraham Leibish Levi, a beloved philanthropist who passed away unexpectedly.
The "Ahava Yisrael" synagogue is managed by the dedicated gabbai (sexton) and activist Rabbi Pini Levi. The Torah scroll was written and donated to elevate the soul of Rabbi Avraham Leibish Levi, described as a man of kindness and smiles.
The dedication ceremony was attended by many distinguished guests, including rebbes and rabbis, as well as a large crowd of congregants who came to share in the joy of the Torah. The event was marked by great splendor and honor.
