Israel Raises Fuel Prices for October Amid Global Market Surge
The Israeli Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure announced that fuel prices will increase starting October 1, 2026. The maximum price for a liter of 95-octane unleaded gasoline at self-service gas stations will be 8.27 shekels, including VAT, a rise of 52 agorot from the previous month. This new price surpasses the previous historical high of 8.25 shekels per liter recorded in September 2012.
The surcharge for full service at gas stations will remain unchanged at 26 agorot per liter, including VAT. In Eilat, where VAT is not applied, the maximum price for a liter of gasoline at self-service stations will be 7.01 shekels, an increase of 44 agorot. The additional charge for full service in Eilat will be 22 agorot, excluding VAT.
According to the ministry, the price hike is attributed to a significant increase in global oil prices and currency fluctuations. Fuel prices in Israel are strictly regulated by the state, with the Fuel and Gas Authority recalculating maximum gasoline costs monthly based on economic indicators and international trends. The new rates will be in effect throughout October at all gas stations nationwide.
