Israeli Search Team Aids Greek Efforts to Find Missing Hiker

An Israeli delegation, including a drone unit from the United Hatzalah rescue organization, arrived at Mount Olympus in Greece on Monday to assist in the ongoing search for missing Israeli hiker Ami Yogevev. The Greek rescue unit officially requested the assistance, citing the need for specialized technology and expertise.

The Israeli team is equipped with advanced tools, including drones with thermal imaging capabilities, night vision systems, and advanced satellite communication like Starlink, which allows for operation in areas without network coverage. The search efforts will concentrate on difficult-to-access mountainous and steep terrain where traditional ground searches are limited.

"We received a new indication regarding Ami's last known location," said Shlomi Yogevev, Ami's brother, who is part of the search effort. He urged the public to support online campaigns to aid the search. David Krispil, a member of the United Hatzalah delegation, stated that they were preparing to commence their advanced searches early Tuesday morning, utilizing the new information from the family to focus their efforts.

Israel's Consul in Greece, Herzl Edri, confirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been coordinating between Greek and Israeli teams since the incident began. He expressed hope that the new information would lead to finding Ami within the next 24 hours.
