IDF, Shin Bet Prepare for Hamas Attempt to Abduct Soldier in Gaza
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet security agency are preparing for the possibility that Hamas will attempt to abduct a soldier in the Gaza Strip in the near future, based on intelligence information. In response to existing warnings, the alert level has been raised for the two divisions deployed in the Gaza Strip: the regional division and Division 99.
Senior commanders in each unit were instructed several days ago not to leave the area and to conduct readiness and alertness checks among the forces under their command. The forces are deployed within the "yellow line," in 40 positions, and in an additional 10 positions located outside the security fence.
