Shin Bet Files Complaint Against Channel 12 Over PM's Flight Report

The Shin Bet security agency has filed an unusual official complaint with the Chief Military Censor, demanding severe action against Channel 12 news. The complaint stems from the station's reporting of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's flight to the United Arab Emirates, which was broadcast while the plane was still airborne.

According to the Shin Bet, the report aired at 9:38 PM, nearly an hour before the prime minister's plane landed in Israel at 10:27 PM. At the time of the broadcast, the aircraft carrying the prime minister, his wife, and a senior delegation including the head of the Mossad, the National Security Advisor, the Military Secretary, and security personnel, was still in the air and far from Israeli airspace.

The Shin Bet stated that the early publication directly endangered the security of the prime minister, his wife, the delegation, aircrew, and ground security. The agency emphasized that the timing of the report exposed operational methods of the service, thereby increasing the risk for future operations.

The Mossad also submitted a strong opinion supporting the Shin Bet's complaint, calling the leak a severe security threat to the prime minister and the delegation. The Mossad requested that this publication be flagged as a serious incident causing damage to Israel's national security.
