Ex-Shin Bet Chief Ronen Bar Sues Netanyahu Over 'Stream of Lies'
Former Shin Bet Director Ronen Bar announced Monday evening that he has instructed his team to file a defamation lawsuit against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
In a statement, Bar explained that while he had initially believed it was appropriate to wait for the establishment of a committee for the rights of the public and bereaved families, he could no longer tolerate what he described as a "stream of lies." Bar accused the Prime Minister of spreading lies, distorting facts, manipulating protocols, and disseminating misleading information to the public.
These accusations stem from the ongoing revelations regarding the extent of the warnings Netanyahu allegedly received prior to the October 7th Hamas attacks. Bar indicated that Netanyahu's actions are occurring as the scope of these prior warnings begins to become clear.
