Israeli Player Ofri Arad Faces Owner Criticism at FCSB

Israeli footballer Ofri Arad is reportedly facing scrutiny from Gigi Becali, the owner of Romanian club FCSB (formerly Steaua Bucharest). According to reports in Romania, Arad is among several players who have lost Becali's confidence following a recent poor run of form, including a heavy 5-0 defeat to Universitatea Craiova.

However, Mihai Stoica, the club's chairman, has publicly defended Arad, suggesting he was one of the few players who performed adequately during the embarrassing loss. Stoica specifically noted Arad's performance in his 46 minutes on the field, stating he played "quite well" and was a rare positive in an otherwise dismal display.

Becali's dissatisfaction also extends to teammates Ayman El-Haj and Arnold Gruber. El-Haj has been linked with a move to Universitatea Craiova, while Gruber's loan deal from China expires in the winter.

Stoica also defended El-Haj and Gruber, highlighting El-Haj's high number of successful dribbles and ball recoveries in his limited playing time against Craiova. He expressed a preference for players like Gruber who give their all on the field, even if they might have more potential.

The situation regarding Arad remains uncertain, with Becali's criticism contrasting with Stoica's defense. While Becali is reportedly unhappy, Stoica sees Arad as a bright spot, indicating the player's standing within the club is fluid.
