Club owner Gigi Becali is said to be unhappy with Arad, along with teammates Ayman El-Dahoudi and Arnold Gruber, following a recent string of poor performances by the team. However, club chairman Mihai Stoica has publicly defended Arad, suggesting he was one of the few players who performed adequately during a recent 5-0 loss to Universitatea Craiova.

Stoica specifically praised Arad's performance in that match, noting that despite playing only 46 minutes, he showed positive attributes. He contrasted Arad's effort with the overall embarrassing display by the team. Stoica also defended El-Dahoudi and Gruber, highlighting El-Dahoudi's high number of successful dribbles and ball recoveries in his limited playing time against Craiova. Stoica expressed his preference for players like Gruber who give their all on the field.
