Bnei Akiva Educational Network Celebrates Sukkot Joy Across Israel
Educational institutions across the Bnei Akiva network held "Simchat Beit HaShoeva" (Rejoicing of the Water-Drawing Festival) celebrations throughout Sukkot, drawing participation from students, families, staff, and local communities. Events featured dancing, music, performances, and family-friendly activities, including juggling shows, bouncy castles, and craft stations for decorating sukkahs.
Notable celebrations took place at the Harel Bnei Akiva Educational Campus in Holon, the Neve Herzog Yeshiva in Nir Galim, and Bnei Akiva Yeshivas in Harish and Ra'anana. The Harish event was attended by Mayor Yochai Fergi, and the Ra'anana event saw students and staff dancing together with local residents. Upcoming events are scheduled for the Ulpana Bnei Akiva in Merkaz Shapira and the Ulpana Bnei Akiva in Katzrin.
According to the network, these events aim to strengthen the connection between the educational institutions and their surrounding communities. The celebrations are part of the network's broader Sukkot programming, which will continue with Hoshana Rabbah and Hakafot Shniyot (Second Circuits).
Elchanan Galat, CEO of the Bnei Akiva Yeshivot and Ulpanot Center, expressed his excitement at the large turnout, emphasizing the holiday's role in connecting Torah study with community life and fostering joy. He noted that the network's institutions are open throughout the holiday for various events, including Hoshana Rabbah study nights and Hakafot Shniyot at Sheba Medical Center in Tel HaShomer.
