Hundreds of Israeli Flags Torn Down Near Majd al-Krum; Minister Vows Action

Hundreds of Israeli flags, recently erected by activists from the Religious Zionist party along roads in the Galilee and near the Arab town of Majd al-Krum, have been torn down and vandalized. The party claims that local Arab residents are responsible for the act. The flags had been placed during an overnight operation by party members. Video footage released afterward showed the flags being removed, leaving only the poles they were attached to.

Finance Minister and Religious Zionist party chairman Bezalel Smotrich reacted to the incident, stating, "I am updating the rioters: the party is over. What we did in Judea and Samaria, we will do in the Negev and the Galilee. Yes, we will Judaize!" The Religious Zionist party linked the flag vandalism to their plans for expanding settlement in the Negev and Galilee regions. They drew parallels between the situation in the Galilee and the days preceding the October 7th Hamas attack.

"The situation in the Galilee is like October 6th on the Gaza border. The current situation where Israeli flags are being vandalized and torn down within the State of Israel is a terrible threat and must stop," the party said in a statement. They added, "We have presented a practical plan for this, and it is our mission for the next term: we will transfer the settlement revolution from Judea and Samaria to the Negev and the Galilee."
