Israel Achieves Historic Success at World Acrobatics Championships

Israel concluded the World Acrobatics Championships in Paesaro, Italy, with a remarkable haul of eight medals, including five gold and three silver. The final day of competition saw Israeli athletes secure two additional gold and two silver medals.

Shiraz Sokolovsky and Roni Cohen, representing Haifa Flyers and Maccabi Acrogym, clinched the gold medal in the Balance exercise final with a score of 28.910 points. This victory capped a spectacular championship for the pair, who had already won gold in the Combined exercise and Dynamic exercise finals, earning them a 'triple gold.'

In the Combined exercise final, Liad Madar, Eran Rodnai, Liran Cohen, and Yevgeny Pinchukov from Begin Holon were crowned world champions with 29.030 points. They also added a silver medal in the Dynamic exercise final, scoring 28.240 points, and finished fourth in the Balance exercise final.

Noam Ronen, Noa Yifrah, and Mari Ovadia, also from Begin Holon, earned a silver medal in the Balance exercise final with 29.040 points. Rotem Wolf and Yotam Kalomel finished fourth in the Dynamic exercise and seventh in the Combined exercise. Uri Dekel, Roni Rotman, and Arad Avir Deutsch from Haifa Flyers secured a silver medal in the Dynamic exercise final and placed ninth in the Combined exercise.

These individual and pair achievements add to the gold medal won by the Israeli team in the Team Award competition, where they secured first place with 88 points ahead of Russia and the USA. Avi Shagi, Chairman of the Israeli Gymnastics Federation, praised the team's performance, calling it a "historic and exciting world championship." Roni Dinman Ventura, CEO of the Federation, highlighted that when combined with the youth competitions, Israel won a total of 13 medals, solidifying its position as an "acrobatic powerhouse on the international stage."
