Cyclist Killed in Golan Heights Crash; Driver Suspected of Drunk Driving
A 48-year-old man from northern Israel was killed on September 26 when he was struck by a car while cycling on Highway 98 near the Magshimim junction in the Golan Heights. Police reported that the 20-year-old driver, a resident of the Golan Heights, showed signs of alcohol intoxication, which were confirmed by a breathalyzer test.
The driver was arrested following the incident. On the evening of September 26, the Nof HaGalil-Nazareth Magistrate's Court extended his detention until September 29 as the investigation into the circumstances of the fatal collision continues.
