Jewish Actor Adam Brody Calls for Free Palestine, Criticizes Israel

Jewish-American actor Adam Brody has publicly addressed the conflict in Gaza for the first time, stating his desire for a "free Palestine" and suggesting the situation has reached a "breaking point" that should have occurred much sooner. Brody, who plays a rabbi in the Netflix hit " a.," expressed these views in an interview with GQ magazine.

Brody described his stance as believing "this is genocide" and wanting "Palestine to be free." He added that while it is tragic that so much death and suffering have occurred, it feels like the situation is reaching a necessary breaking point. He also expressed hope that a different administration could help rectify policies contributing to the dire circumstances.

Previously, Brody had discussed the issue privately but not publicly. His comments follow recent actions by other Hollywood figures, including Oscar winner Susan Sarandon and actress Hannah Einbinder, who were arrested outside the UN General Assembly in New York during a protest against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's arrival. Protesters chanted slogans against Netanyahu, calling him a "genocidaire."

Sarandon and Einbinder participated in a demonstration organized by "Jewish Voice for Peace" in New York, holding signs calling for an end to arming Israel. Sarandon, known for her anti-Israel views and accusations of "genocide" in Gaza, has previously acknowledged losing work opportunities in Hollywood due to her stance. Einbinder has also voiced similar opinions, stating that the cost of silence is greater than professional repercussions. Local politicians were also arrested at the event alongside the actresses.
