Jewish Actor Adam Brody Calls Gaza Conflict 'Genocide'

Adam Brody, star of the Netflix series "The Other Two," has broken his silence on the Israel-Hamas war, expressing strong support for a "free Palestine" and calling the situation "genocide." The comments were made in an interview with GQ ahead of the show's third season premiere on October 22.

Brody, who plays a rabbi in the popular comedy, stated, "Sign me up as someone who wants a free Palestine. I think it's genocide." He reflected on recent global events, including the pandemic, the Trump presidency, and the conflict in Gaza, noting they "really brought out different beliefs of mine that I wasn't aware of, and then I was also disappointed by them." He added that while he discussed the issue privately, he had not spoken about it publicly until now.

Brody also expressed hope for a change in leadership, suggesting, "I hope another leadership can actually do some good and fix some of the policies that are helping to make this situation as terrible as it is." In "The Other Two," Brody's character, Rabbi Robel, enters a relationship with a podcast host played by Kristen Bell, exploring themes of cultural immersion and conversion.

Separately, Marvel star Florence Pugh also addressed the conflict in an interview with Vanity Fair, stating, "I don't know why it's taken so long for people to start talking and for people to actually start feeling empathy. I've never been scared to support Palestine. It's truly awful to watch so much pain when so much of our lives just keep moving forward."
