Known Criminal Oشر Arbib Arrested Again on Drug Charges

Oشر Arbib, a known criminal from Hadera, was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of possessing drugs not for personal use. This is not Arbib's first encounter with law enforcement; in December, he and another suspect, a woman in her 30s, were arrested on suspicion of threatening and exposing the identity of a police agent. This agent was central to the "Crossing Borders" case, which led to the indictment of dozens of suspects for arms and drug trafficking.

Authorities allege that Arbib and the other suspect committed offenses including witness tampering, threats, and encouraging false testimony. The police consider these actions particularly serious, stating they constitute "much more than threats, it is a call to harm a police agent." Arbib's detention was extended by five days following a court hearing, while the female suspect was released to house arrest.

Arbib's lawyer, Sapir Pardo, criticized the arrest, describing it as occurring "like common criminals in Israel, in the dead of night."
