Hamas Operative with British Citizenship Arrested for Terror Plot

A former bodyguard of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh, identified as 'Mr. X' in reports, received asylum and citizenship in the UK before allegedly planning a major terror attack in Europe last year. The plot, reportedly timed around the second anniversary of the October 7th massacre, was intended as retaliation for the war in Gaza and targeted Jewish and Israeli interests.

'Mr. X' reportedly left Gaza over a decade ago and settled in Britain, where he worked as a technical support consultant. He was granted asylum in 2015 by the UK Home Office, despite his known ties to Hamas and his work for Haniyeh being known to authorities at the time. He later obtained British citizenship.

According to the report, 'Mr. X' became a key figure in a Hamas infrastructure planning attacks against Jewish and Israeli targets in Germany and Austria. Potential targets included Jewish community centers, Israeli diplomats, and pro-Israel demonstrations.

He was arrested in November of last year as part of an international investigation into Hamas infrastructure in Europe. Intelligence regarding the planned attack was reportedly shared with British authorities by the Mossad. 'Mr. X' is currently facing extradition proceedings to Germany.
