German Referee Harm Osmers to Officiate Politically Charged Match for Israel
German referee Harm Osmers, known for his Bundesliga and European competition assignments since 2016 and 2020 respectively, will officiate the upcoming Nations League match between Israel and Ireland. The 41-year-old official has previously refereed Maccabi Haifa in a 3-0 loss to French side Rennes in September 2023, issuing five yellow cards to the Israeli club. Osmers has never officiated the Israeli national team before.
