Israeli Citizens Arrested in Montenegro with Spy Gear and Cash
An Israeli couple, identified as 31-year-old Alexander Kruglyansky and his partner Alexandra, 42, were arrested at Tivat Airport in Montenegro while attempting to board a flight to Israel. They are suspected of fraud and money laundering.
According to reports, the couple, who are Russian citizens also holding Israeli passports, were traveling with 19 suitcases and bags. During a search of their luggage, undeclared electronic equipment, medications, and a significant amount of cash were discovered. Among the seized items were a GPS device with a microphone, a transmitter detector, and surveillance cameras, leading authorities to suspect the equipment could be used for tracking and espionage.
Subsequent searches of properties used by the couple in the Montenegrin cities of Budva and Bar uncovered approximately one million euros and additional electronic devices. The suitcases found at the airport contained 26,210 euros and 1,150 shekels.
The court has extended their detention by one month, citing concerns that they may attempt to flee.
