Cyclist Dies After Being Hit by Car Near Magshimim Junction
A cyclist, approximately 40 years old, was killed Saturday morning after being struck by a car on Highway 98 near the Magshimim Junction. MDA paramedics who arrived at the scene found the cyclist unconscious, without a pulse or breathing, while bystanders were performing basic CPR. Despite continued medical efforts, paramedics were forced to pronounce the cyclist dead at the scene. The driver of the private vehicle sustained minor injuries.
Police confirmed the incident, stating that officers from the Northern District and traffic accident investigators were dispatched to the location. They are directing traffic and have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the collision. The identity of the deceased cyclist is not yet known.
