FC Eilat, a team built with significant investment and high expectations for the 2026/2027 Liga Bet (South division) season, experienced a shocking 6-0 loss to MS Shikhun Hamizrah on Thursday. Despite an initial strong start with two wins, the team, featuring notable players like Gil Yitzhak, Gidi Kaniuk, Ran Chashpeya, and Ofek Fishler, was unable to prevent the devastating defeat.
MS Shikhun Hamizrah's goals came from Muad Abu Shladam, who scored in the 22nd and 52nd minutes, Natan Tasla in the 35th minute, Yossi Salich with a brace in the 55th and 57th minutes, and substitute Itai Zrihan who sealed the victory in the 84th minute.
Eilat had previously defeated Ashkelon 1-0 in the first round and Beit She'arim 2-0 in the second. The team, which saw its professional manager Kobi Refua depart after just one round, now sits in fifth place with six points.
