Million-Dollar Project Suffers Humiliating 6-0 Defeat in Soccer League
FC Eilat, a team with a multi-million shekel budget and high expectations for the 2026/2027 Liga Bet (South division) season, suffered a shocking 6-0 loss to MS Shikhun Hamizrah on Thursday. Despite winning their first two matches, the team, which includes notable players like Gil Yitzhak, Gidi Kaniuk, Ran Chashpeya, and Ofek Fishler, was unable to prevent the devastating defeat.
Mohamed Abu Shalam scored the opening goal in the 22nd minute and added another in the 52nd. Natan Tasla found the net in the 35th minute, followed by a brace from Yossi Salich in the 55th and 57th minutes. The rout was completed by substitute Itay Zrihan in the 84th minute.
Eilat had previously defeated Ashkelon 1-0 and Beit She'arim 2-0. The team, which saw its professional manager Kobi Refua depart after just one match, currently sits in fifth place with six points.
