Israel Braces for Cooler Temperatures and Scattered Showers Next Week
Israel is set to experience a shift in weather patterns early next week, with a slight drop in temperatures and the possibility of localized rain showers, particularly in the northern and central regions. The forecast indicates that Friday will remain largely clear with variable cloud cover, and temperatures will be close to seasonal norms, offering a comfortable evening ahead of the Sukkot holiday. Some cooler conditions are expected in mountainous areas.
According to Meteo-Tech, a brief period of light drizzle might occur on the coastal plain Friday morning. Throughout the day, most areas will see partly cloudy skies with clear spells. Meteorologist Lior Sudri described the weather for the Sukkot eve as generally normal and comfortable, with only a slight cooling in the mountains, keeping temperatures slightly below average for this time of year.
While reports suggest a potential rainy spell next week, it remains uncertain if significant precipitation will coincide with the holiday itself. Sudri anticipates that Monday and Tuesday could bring light, scattered rain to northern and central Israel, but emphasized that no substantial rainfall is expected. "We might see a little rain in the north and center on Monday and Tuesday, but nothing dramatic," he stated.
Looking further ahead, Sudri noted preliminary signs of another potential rain event towards the end of next week. However, he cautioned that this forecast is tentative and subject to change as the date approaches. "We need to wait and see what happens," he advised.
Temperatures on Friday are projected to reach 33 degrees Celsius in Kiryat Shmona, 34 in Tiberias, 29 in Haifa and Tel Aviv, 30 in Modiin, 27 in Jerusalem, 29 in Ashkelon, 30 in Beersheba, 26 in Mitzpe Ramon, and 35 in Eilat. Saturday, the first day of Sukkot, will feature partly cloudy skies with temperatures remaining near seasonal averages. Sunday is expected to see no significant temperature changes. Monday will bring variable clouds, a slight temperature decrease below the seasonal norm, especially in the mountains, and potential light local rain in the north and center. Tuesday's forecast shows no major temperature shifts.
