Renowned Kabbalist Rabbi David Batsri Collapses, Revived, Hospitalized
The prominent Kabbalist Rabbi David Shalom Batsri, head of the 'HaShalom' yeshiva in Jerusalem, collapsed at his home in Bnei Brak on Wednesday. Emergency medical services were called to his residence on Rabbi Landau Street after he was found unconscious, without a pulse or breathing.
Paramedics and volunteers from Magen David Adom and Hatzalah performed advanced resuscitation efforts, including chest compressions, medication, and respiratory support. After their efforts, the rabbi's pulse returned. He was then transported to the trauma unit at Sheba Medical Center, Tel HaShomer, for further treatment.
Rabbi Batsri, 85, is considered one of the leading Kabbalists of this generation. He has experienced fluctuating health in the past year. In December, he was hospitalized in serious condition and placed on a respirator at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem, prompting widespread prayer gatherings. He later recovered.
His students and family are urging the public to pray for his complete recovery. He is known as Rabbi David Shalom ben Victoria in prayers for the sick.
