Idan Zalmanson Returns to Maccabi Rishon LeZion
Israeli national team center Idan Zalmanson is set to sign with Maccabi Rishon LeZion, marking his return to the club for a second stint. Zalmanson, 31, spent the last two seasons with Hapoel Holon but will now rejoin the "Oranges" (Rishon LeZion's nickname) on a one-year contract. Rishon LeZion will cover his full salary as part of the transfer. Zalmanson becomes the fourth Israeli player signed by Rishon LeZion this summer, joining Ron Tzipor, Or Cornelius, and Michael Brisker. Last season, Zalmanson averaged 7.8 points, 2.3 assists, and 4.7 rebounds per game in 17.6 minutes for Hapoel Holon. He had a contract for another season with Holon, but the move to Rishon LeZion will proceed if finalized.
