Idan Zalmanson Nears Return to Maccabi Rishon LeZion
Israeli national team center Idan Zalmanson is reportedly close to joining Maccabi Rishon LeZion for a second stint with the club. Zalmanson, 31, played for Hapoel Holon last season and is expected to leave the team despite having another year on his contract. If the move materializes, he is set to sign a one-year deal with Rishon LeZion, which will cover his full salary.
Several other teams have expressed interest in the player, but Rishon LeZion appears to be leading the race to sign him. Zalmanson would become the fourth Israeli player to join Rishon LeZion this summer, following Ron Zipper, Or Cornelius, and Michael Brisker.
Last season with Hapoel Holon, Zalmanson averaged 7.8 points, 2.3 assists, and 4.7 rebounds per game in 17.6 minutes of play.
