Ron Zipr Returns to Israel, Signs with Maccabi Rishon LeZion
Ron Zipr is coming back to Israel and the Israeli Basketball Premier League after one season in the NCAA. Maccabi Rishon LeZion announced on Friday morning, June 26, 2026, that it had signed the 23-year-old guard, who stands 1.94 meters tall, for the 2026/2027 season.
In its announcement, the club said Zipr was added to the roster to bring "Israeli quality, shooting and creativity" to the backcourt. Zipr spent the past year at LSU, where he averaged 2.2 points per game.
Before moving to LSU, Zipr played three seasons for Hapoel Be'er Sheva. In the 2024/2025 season there, he averaged 11.1 points and shot 38.2% from three-point range.
He was also a key player for Israel's under-20 national team. At the 2023 European Championship, Zipr posted 11.9 points and 2.6 rebounds per game, and Israel lost the final to France.
