Maccabi Netanya Includes 16-Year-Old Talent Yarin Abu Hazira in Poland Training Camp
Maccabi Netanya departed on Friday morning for their training camp in Poland amid ongoing efforts to recruit quality foreign players. The club currently faces challenges with no dedicated central defender and only one senior winger, Oz Bilu. Coach Roni Levy, determined to strengthen the squad for a top playoff finish, rejected several foreign player proposals, aiming for impactful signings.
Levy chose to keep young players Tahar Teana and Sahar Taji with the team despite their uncertain fitness and loan prospects. Notably, 16-year-old Yarin Abu Hazira, son of former player Shimon Abu Hazira, joined the senior squad for the camp after celebrating his birthday last month. Levy, known for developing young talents like Lior Refaelov and Eden Ben Basat, praised Yarin as an extraordinary talent and quickly promoted him to train with the first team, with potential playing time expected this season.
Meanwhile, Dylan Batubinska requested more time to consider joining Netanya, and the club remains hopeful of securing his arrival. The club also confirmed Hassan Hilo's candidacy, as previously reported. In a disciplinary matter, French midfielder Willian Siprian was fined after an incident in a friendly against Ironi Tiberias where he took a penalty kick against coaching staff instructions. Although Siprian apologized, the club imposed a fine to maintain discipline.
