Maccabi Tel Aviv Falls in EuroLeague Opener, Faces Contract Talks

Maccabi Tel Aviv began their EuroLeague season with a disappointing 84-74 loss to ASVEL Villeurbanne. The team struggled offensively and defensively, committing numerous turnovers that led to easy points for the French side. Coach Oded Katash acknowledged the team's confusion and lack of composure, stating, "We weren't spaced enough in the right places, offensively we were very confused." However, finalization of the deal is pending resolution of remaining differences regarding the total sum and a potential opt-out clause, though both sides are reportedly eager to conclude the negotiations.
