Maccabi Tel Aviv is set to begin their 2026-27 EuroLeague campaign on Thursday at 21:45 against French club ASVEL Villeurbanne in the LDLC Arena, located in the suburbs of Lyon. The team departed Israel for France on Thursday afternoon, accompanied by several dozen fans on their flight, after completing their final practice.

All players, including Jimmy Clark, are available for coach Oded Katash, barring any last-minute changes. Katash will need to select two players who will not dress for the game, with Amit Cohen reportedly being one of them. Daniel Theis, who had been sidelined with an injury and played only one preseason game, has returned, as has Ousmane Dieng, who sustained a knock during a preseason tournament in Cyprus. Clark, who also dealt with an injury prior to the preseason games, has rejoined practices and is expected to be in the squad.

Maccabi is treating ASVEL with significant respect, despite their roster appearing less impressive on paper, viewing the game as a considerable challenge.
