Police Fatally Shoot Suspect in Yafo an-Naseriyye

A young man, Omar Hawari from Reineh, was killed by police gunfire in Yafo an-Naseriyye. Police stated that during an operation by Northern District undercover officers in Yafo an-Naseriyye, aimed at thwarting shootings and crime, forces were positioned near a building that had been shot at in recent days. While officers were present and preparing, they observed a suspect arrive on a motorcycle with another individual. The suspect dismounted and fired numerous shots at the residential building. The undercover officers engaged the suspect and returned fire. Following a foot pursuit, they apprehended the suspect after he was wounded by police gunfire. The suspect was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
