Armed Man Neutralized by Police After Firing at Nazareth Home
Police in northern Israel thwarted a shooting incident in Nazareth overnight between Thursday and Friday, neutralizing an armed man who opened fire on a house. Officers were present near the building as part of preparations, following recent shooting attacks targeting the same structure. During their deployment, they observed a suspect, a man in his 30s, arrive on a scooter with another individual. The suspect dismounted and fired numerous shots from an M-16 rifle at the residential building.
Responding immediately, the officers approached the shooter, returned fire, and initiated a foot pursuit. The chase concluded with the suspect's apprehension after he sustained injuries. He was subsequently transported to Nazareth's English Hospital, where his death was pronounced. Authorities have indicated that the motive for the shooting is criminal in nature.
