Armed Man Shot Near Nazareth After Firing at Building, Neutralized
Police neutralized a man in his 30s who fired a long gun at a building in the town of Yafia, near Nazareth, on Thursday night. The man was evacuated in critical condition to the English Hospital in Nazareth, where he was pronounced dead. The motive for the shooting is believed to be criminal.
According to police, officers from the Northern District were conducting operational preparations in Yafia when they identified an armed individual firing at a structure. The officers engaged the suspect with gunfire and neutralized him. The report of the shooting was received by MDA emergency services at 11:53 PM.
An MDA team arrived at the scene and found the man on the ground amidst a commotion. He was without pulse or respiration. Paramedics initiated advanced resuscitation efforts, including ventilation and medication, and transported him to the hospital in a mobile intensive care unit while continuing resuscitation. His condition was critical upon arrival at the hospital, where he later died.
