New Poll Shows "Undecideds" Leaning Toward Status Quo, Opposition Bloc Gains

A new poll released by Channel 13 News reveals that 13% of Israeli voters remain undecided ahead of the next election, with 65% of these "swing voters" leaning towards their previous party choice from 2022. The survey, conducted by The Index in collaboration with Stat-Net, Project HaMidgam, and Ascary, polled 1,503 respondents with a 2.5% margin of error.

The poll projects "Yashar" led by Gadi Eisenkot as the largest party with 22 mandates, while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party is at a low of 18 mandates. Naftali Bennett's "Achva" secures 11 mandates, and Yair Golan's "HaDemocratim" receives the same. The Joint List, Yisrael Beiteinu, and United Torah Judaism each garner 8 mandates, with the latter gaining one. Itamar Ben-Gvir's Otzma Yehudit and Aryeh Deri's Shas both receive 7 mandates. Religious Zionism and Zehut, led by Bezalel Smotrich and Moshe Feiglin, obtain 6 mandates. Ofer Winter's "Am Yisrael" and Mansour Abbas's Ra'am each receive 5 mandates.

A notable surprise is Yoaz Hendel and Yaron Ze'ev Zelekha's "HaMiluimnikim-HaKalkalit," which crosses the electoral threshold with 4 mandates. Conversely, Benny Gantz's National Unity party falls below the threshold, receiving less than 1% of the vote. The "Charedi HaTziburi" party also fails to pass the threshold.

In terms of blocs, the opposition commands 52 mandates, while the coalition loses three mandates from the previous week, totaling 51. Arab parties hold 13 mandates, alongside Hendel and Zelekha's 4 mandates.

Regarding leadership suitability, Eisenkot sees a record high of 48% support, compared to Netanyahu's 36%, with 16% undecided. When asked about preferred government composition, 31% favor a broad unity government, 29% prefer a "right-wing maximalist" government, and 25% support a "full opposition" government.
