Eilat Police Respond to Multiple Unusual Traffic Incidents

Over the past 24 hours, Eilat police have dealt with several unusual traffic incidents. Among them, a 14-year-old girl was caught driving a car and crashed into a pole. She reportedly took the vehicle for a drive while other teenagers were inside, after the actual driver exited to shop. The girl and her parents have been summoned for questioning by traffic investigators.

In another incident, a man suspected of assaulting his partner drove into several vehicles. Police officers who arrived at the scene arrested the driver, who registered 840 micrograms of alcohol per liter of exhaled air in a breathalyzer test. He is currently detained for the assault investigation and will also be questioned for traffic offenses.

Traffic police also stopped a 40-year-old Eilat resident driving a commercial vehicle while his license was suspended since 2017, and the vehicle lacked valid registration and was prohibited from use. The vehicle was impounded. A fast-track indictment was filed against the driver.

Additionally, another driver was stopped for a routine check and suspected of drunk driving. A breathalyzer test revealed 737 micrograms of alcohol per liter of exhaled air. The driver received a summons for prosecution and a hearing regarding his license and vehicle use.
