Eilat Driver Caught Driving Illegally for Ninth Time
A man in his 40s was arrested in Eilat on Thursday for the ninth time while driving with a suspended license. Police stopped the driver during an enforcement operation by the city's municipal policing unit. It was discovered that his license, which he has held since 2026 and classifies him as a new driver, was currently suspended. The current suspension stems from a drunk driving incident in August, which resulted in a 30-day administrative suspension. The driver faces charges including driving while suspended, reckless driving, unsafe overtaking, and driving without valid insurance. He has accumulated 23 previous traffic convictions. The case file will be transferred to a traffic prosecutor, who will review the evidence and consider filing charges, along with a request to detain the driver until the proceedings conclude, given the severity and circumstances of the incident.
