Israel Military Restricts Access to Training Areas in Northern Israel During Sukkot Holiday

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced restrictions on public access to designated firing zones and training areas across several regions in northern Israel during the Sukkot holiday. The limitations will affect areas including the Golan Heights, Mount Carmel, Ramot Menashe, and the Netufa region.

The military is urging the public to refrain from entering these restricted zones to allow security forces to carry out their operational duties without interruption. The IDF emphasized that these areas are actively used for ongoing military training, and any entry requires prior coordination and explicit permission.

Unauthorized entry into these military zones poses a significant risk to hikers and visitors. For areas where access may be permitted, it will be contingent upon obtaining prior approval. The IDF also issued a directive for hikers who encounter unexploded ordnance, ammunition, or any suspicious objects: they are instructed not to approach or touch them, to move away from the area immediately, and to report the finding to Northern Command.

The restrictions are based on an ongoing assessment of the security situation and are intended to ensure the safety of both the public and military personnel during the holiday period.
