IDF Restricts Access to Training Areas During Sukkot Holiday

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Thursday that access for hikers and the public will be restricted in various training and firing zones across northern Israel during the Sukkot holiday. The restrictions are in place to allow military forces to conduct their training exercises without interference.

These limitations will apply to firing zones in the Golan Heights, Carmel, Menashe Hills, and the Natufa region. The IDF emphasized that these areas are active training grounds and entry requires prior coordination and approval. Entering these zones without authorization could endanger the public, the military stated.

However, the IDF clarified that access may be permitted on a case-by-case basis, provided hikers coordinate their visits in advance. Those planning to visit these areas during the holiday are advised to check for accessibility and make the necessary arrangements beforehand.

Additionally, the IDF issued guidelines for encountering unexploded ordnance or suspicious objects. The public is instructed not to approach or touch such items, but to move away and immediately report them to Northern Command.
